"Its not about the rugby, its about getting silly and letting your guard down for one weekend in a year" as Mike said, a veteran of HK sevens since the early eighties. 35,000 with tickets, another 15,000 without tickets, and you have an overflowing pool of sweaty people converging to Lan Kwai Fong, Soho and Wanchai.
You feel it was more like Halloween, but who cares. My eyes felt better after 2 nights out watching and mingling with the crowd. There was plenty to see, and next year I'll make sure to be more prepared for this gobsmacking event!

If one likes city life, Hong Kong is absolutely fascinating. A melting pot of Chinese and Western culture, this city has everything!

It was bloody cold.. and wet... but we all survived. 12 straight hours from seeing van de vaart score, singing a john denver song with 57,000 fans, to ending up in a thai karaoke bar and dancing to blondie in an 80's nightclub. I have to give thumbs up to simon (for getting the green light to stay all day with me!!) and of course to carsten and isabel. I will miss these guys and others too.
Next venue : HK!!!

Un weekend à Paris
|
|
|
A trip to Paris is like no other. Whether its your maiden or seventy-third trip, Paris will always keep you on your toes with its charm, ambeance, love and suave character. We were lucky that a February weekend decended upon Paris with clear blue skies with no clouds in sight, along with a cooling breeze that swept through the Seine River. The local Parisians really know their food and their fashion. Heck, even the dogs walk with flair and attitude! Every euro was well spent!
Will continue with more pictures soon

A day after the 18th January Northern Europe storm, we decided to venture to Lubeck, a town famour for its marzipan and chocolate, and the home of famous German write and Noble prize winner, Thomas Mann (see wikipedia). While there, the Baltic Sea was just a stone's throw away and beside's the strong gust and chilly weather, it was a lovely sight.
